Holiferm, a UK-based biotech company known for better cost performance from its sustainable alternatives to traditional ingredients, is bringing a powerful new ingredient to environmentally conscious families and households through a partnership with natural skincare and wellness brand, Cosy Cottage.
Developed using cutting-edge technology at its Innovation Lab in Manchester, MELs (Mannosylerythritol Lipids) are Holiferm’s sustainable, improved-performance alternative to the synthetic chemicals found in most personal care and cleaning products.
Their collaboration with Cosy Cottage will see MELs brought to life in a range of products with trusted ingredients that UK consumers can enjoy using every day, including skincare, natural deodorants, baby products and pet care items. Better for both people and planet, the new line will be brought to the market in 2026.
The groundbreaking ingredients are proven to work more effectively than the traditional surfactants currently used in such products. They are also biodegradable, gentle on skin and made using a natural fermentation process that’s kinder to the environment, resulting in fewer harsh chemicals going down the drain and more purposeful choices on the shelf.
